Epic music evokes extreme feelings. Take Heart of Courage, for example. I sometimes find the titles of TSFH’s pieces to be misleading when it comes to the feelings they’re supposed to evoke, but, in this case, it most certainly makes the listener feel unnaturally courageous and triumphant (this kind of music makes for an amazing road trip, let me tell ya). Another good example from a different composer is Howard Shore’s “Lothlorien” from the first Lord of the Rings movie. This is played when the Fellowship enters the realm of Celeborn and Galadriel, which is a very beautiful location filled with ethereal light and magic. Shore gives the realm an intense, otherworldly beauty with his use of different modes, augmented 2nd intervals, choir, strings, and cool percussion (I’m pretty sure tubular bells are included).

It's something that you feel deep inside when you lisen to this, and makes you feel powerfull and motivated, that's is what helped me when I was down for a long time, and now it makes me feel so powerfull and capable of anything! Hope I can make you feel the same way as I do.
