Dr. Terry Wahls speaks in Calgary, Canada on September 15, 2014. Dr. Wahls is a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa, U.S.A. She is also a patient with a chronic progressive neurological disorder, secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, which confined her to a tilt-recline wheelchair for four years. But thanks to the power of the Wahls Protocol™, which is based on Functional Medicine and the Wahls Paleo™ diet, Dr. Wahls restored her health and now pedals her bike five miles to work each day.

I am in limbo in UK after our NHS destroyed my MRI notes and was told that they will never ever help me with MS . I have fought MS for nearly 50 years NO MS meds ever and been very badly treated by many also .

I have a question for Dr. Walls. Isn't it true that produce that sits in boxes, then trucks, then more bless, then shelved, you get the idea, it's days old, is not as good as fresh frozen, or, is there really no such thing? I have advanced Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, or whatever the gov wants to call it now, I think it the flip side of the same coin as M.S., which doctors know about, but very few ever hear about ME. The USA doesn't even have an ICD code for it. Sorry, I'm tired, haha, (more like I'm minutes from death) and I digressed, to ask, aren't the frozen vegetables better. I'm so sick that I can't cook now. I eat veges cold right out of a can and high quality protein bars. Is this a realistic diet for someone like myself that doesn't/can't cook all that much? p.s. I'm in a WC also, can stand some in the kitchen but not that long.

You never say about honey? Is that OK to substitute sugar with honey? Thank you.

She mentions she is in the "ketosis" phase of the diet. For all the good she has done in her research I think she is messing up long term health with a ketosis protocol.
Most members of the paleo community eventually recognize significant problems with very low carb diets. You shut your thyroid down ramp up adrenals and run on stress hormones.
The glucose deficiency causes dry eyes and skin, cognitive impairment, new food sensitivities. Her original protocol is likely too low in net carbohydrates minus dietary fiber. Getting at least 100 gms a day net carbs from whole fruits is easy way to improve her protocol.
I bet making that requirement would eliminate most fatigue still showing up in the study patients.

I repeatedly try to watch this video and am redirected almost immediately to something called 'fat burning man'.  What is up with this???  Does anyone else have this problem?  Does youtube not want people to view this video?
