I've seen people talk about using the redstone output from the chiseled bookshelves to make a secret door. If we combine that with your idea to use the chiseled bookshelves as flooring, the secret door could be almost impossible to find. (Also very easy to lose lol)

I can imagine chiseled bookshelves being used not only as a secret passage way, but as a trap. You gotta know which book to pull or else you will trigger traps instead. Could make for some fun puzzle type adventure maps.

I really hope they recolor the bamboo blocks slightly, so that they match the scaffolding perfectly. The new bamboo color is slightly cooler in color.

I’d personally like to see bookshelves (both kinds) come in wood variant colors. I could see the sides of the chiseled bookshelves used in a British style as wainscoting

The ability to make a classic secret bookshelf door that opens when you pull out a certain book might be what gets me to learn redstone after almost ten years of playing the game.

Chiseled bookshelves as floor could be a great option for puzzle rooms, where you have to put out certain book to go further

Minecraft logic.

You use six wood and three books to craft the original bookshelf, which has about 20 books on each side.

But if you put one book in the chiseled variant. One book is inside the shelf.

Ok, I’m brave enough to say it. 10:56, the first one looked better. Idk what the wall is for, but for the way I build adding trapdoors and fence posts would get in the way. It just breaks up the pattern too much for my taste. Do with my comment what you will!

Hanging Signs can also be used as hanging leather pelts for a leatherworker build! I think that would only be for the wood types though.

I'm very excited for the chiseled bookshelf. It'll be a huge upgrade to my world.
I like the idea of bamboo wood and the texture is really good, but I don't have any build ideas. The torches shown in the video were a nice decorative idea.

You can use the side of the bookshelf as a wall skirting at the base of the wall and then add the bamboo designs to act is a wallpaper or terracotta as wall paint.

Edit, this would be great for mansion builds.
