Currently working on one of the castles and tweaking the atmospherics effects.
Keep in mind that the layout of the castle isn't final and is far from being done.

Amir, this is looking fantastic man. There's a particular book that I suggest to you, for the functional aspects of a castle (which is very important). It's called "The Medieval Fortress" by J.E. and H.W. Kaufmann. The functionality and layout of your castle would benefit tremendously from it.

UDK is limited to 15km² of playable area, to go over that you'll have to split your level into multiple sub-levels with loading zones.Keep in mind that UDK doesn't do too well with objects viewed in the distance. You'll get flickering showing up where the terrain links with the models for example.

Boards of Canada = ultimate win. The progress looks great thus far. Are you intending for the castle to be more of a fantasy one? It feels almost like southern asian architecture - looks brill.

Everything is custom made, so you won't find it in the SDK assets library. (except for the sky texture which is place holder at the moment).

Very great job ! I don't know where are you going but your first lighting test looked like more "fantastic", do you kept them ? It's only graphic demo or are you working for gamplay ? Good luck and keep sending videos !!

Hey Wenda, Totally following your progress. I'm still with my sandbox game, and I thought that, in UDK, I could use level streaming to achieve the huge land I need. Do you know if there are any known issues in level streaming, like having a big bunch of levels streamed? or if I should use stream by visibility or volumes or what? Thanks and keep with your work, it really inspires me.

If you ever played kingdom of amalur, I would suggest to use their layout system for organizing your level.

So, I could use some level streaming and some loading screens, so I could reduce the size of the maps and boost performance.
Hmm..
I don't really know exactly what to do, because I don't like loading screens, but 15km2 it's not enough. I'll figure out something...
