Fantastic video John. Thank you for making these available to all of us that want to fish like you do. Reading your books and then matching them up to these videos is very helpful.

outstanding as usual, John. What an exhilirating fight. Those fish arent much for eating, because theyre all tough, blood-rich flesh. In other words, an incredibly muscular and athletic fish, as are all the members of the Tuna family. Wow. he did NOT come peacefully.

It's the best way I've seen. They occasionally will hit a popper, but you'd have to move it fast.

Albies show up along some south shore beaches in late summer. Breezy Point is one. Not sure what you mean by "safe".

What a nice video Sr, I use the same lures in the Costalegre, México for skip jacks and bonito from the surf as well!

I wish we got fish like that from the shore of the UK. Nicely done John!

Good stuff. You place your camera in the perfect position to catch all the good action, while keeping the rod in frame, along with a good perspective as to what the surroundings are. Something that a good deal of others can't seem to get exactly right.

They move around a lot. There's been some at shinnecock, but it's hit or miss.

damn i love your videos....so realistic, so informative and its information thats relevant to the exact place i live...albeit you're on the north shore and im on the south shore, but its close enough to use the same tactics. the underwater videos are the best, crazy to see that view, its definitely different than i imagine it while im fishing. i dont ever expect fish to follow a lure for 20 seconds on a drift before making a move to strike it

it's crazy they even do the "tuna circle" right by the shore

Judging from pictures I've seen, it looks that way. We have green bonito up here that are different.

no you chop em up and go for bottom fish like snapper and grouper but sometimes you'll hook a shark, i was fishing in fl and we were reeling in a sizeeable snapper and a 500 pound bull shark grabbed the line and he put up a hell of a fight

Off shore in se FL we call them Bonito make good cut bait and make trolling strips with the belly ..You can eat the small ones 5 to 12lbs   if you take the time of bleeding  them out as soon as they come out of the water .Then clean the fish right then .Maraniate the meat in milk for 24 hr changing the milk 2 0r 3 times .Par boil the meat  with a little salt in the water.Refrigerate over night . Makes great tuna fish
