It’s been a minute since we at X Overland built out our 2016 Toyota Tacoma. This past year, we were beyond excited to build not one, but two new Overland and film production-ready Toyota Tacoma builds. Clay’s vision behind these was to take our lessons learned from previous builds, push the limits, and create two Tacoma’s that served different purposes on our upcoming film production and overlanding travels to Alaska. Join us in this detailed video as we dive into the build details, the reasons behind our decisions, and where you can find these products. Enjoy!

These two trucks have many firsts along with tried and true as we tried out a few prototype products from our partners.

First up, we couldn’t pass up this opportunity to finally go to 35” @General Tires which meant a re-gear for both trucks and some body trimming.
Another first is the all-new CDEC Electronic Suspension from Icon Vehicle Dynamics and a prototype bumper with brush guards from CBI Offroad along with larger side steps for the camera guys.

‘Atigun’ the 2021 Offroad Tacoma is the FIRST to have a Tacoma @patriotgamesv2 Ute Tray bed from @patriotcamperscreated, shipped from Australia, and installed. This truck is the primary film production truck with solar panels from Redarc and top of the line power management systems to keep all of our camera and drone batteries topped off with enough juice left over to offload all of that data every night. We left the top clear for fishing pole boxes from Big Sky Rod Box and cargo space for those Alaska activities.

‘Raven’ is the 2020 Offroad Tacoma and was built light and fast with many lifestyle elements included. A Go Fast Camper, Decked drawer system, and the Redarc Redvision system make this one fast, livable truck. Inside, a 60% Goose Gear seat delete was added for further camera storage for quick, dust-free access.

Thank you for watching, please subscribe, share, and be sure to catch the trucks in action in our all-new Alaska Series airing tonight at 7pm MST here on our channel! #xoverland #anywhereispossible #truckbuild

To the "sell-out" comments here: when you bust your tail for decades perfecting your craft of story-telling, filming, editing, voice-overs, travel logistics, team-building, etc, brands such as Toyota, ARB, PCOR, etc, want to work with you so that their products gain exposure to a targeted audience and because they know their products will be highlighted in such a way that aligns with the way they want their products highlighted to a mass audience. What XO does is no different than Nike wanting their products on Tiger Woods because they saw him as the best golfer in the world.

Awesome builds, XO crew! The vast majority of us appreciate what you do and what you put out for our enjoyment!

(ps what pants do you all have on? I need some.)

This channel should change its name to "Gucci Overland" or maybe "Money is no object Overland" 😂

I'd love to see a behind the scenes video of the two builds. With details on installation challenges, total (MSRP) cost, hours spent on the build, what works and what doesn't, What you wish you could improve, etc.

When I watch overlanding videos on YouTube i see one thing in common for all, Toyotas and Isuzu. They are for a reason.

When the Vid strikes and you have to quarantine from the rest of the family, you do it in the back of your 4Runner while in your version of the X Hanger. (ok ok its my garage). But being able to watch XO build videos and the new Alaska launch make it a little more tolerable. Great work on the builds guys!! Top notch as always.

Those fourbys are looking very Australian in America nowadays. Lovely builds you've done.

Wow what a rig. With all it gears, electronics, expensive lights all around, the pcor canopy, Dual winch, custom bullbar, great tyres(expensive😃), Redarc power system with extra lithiums, state of the art suspension system, lockers, full belly armoured the list goes on. You guys are fortunate to have a sponsorship and to be able to built an overlanding vehicle of this caliber (I'm jealous🤫).
Me and my friends(5) in two ISUZU d-max (all terrain) we went to the Himalayan range and Ladakh was our target. It took us exactly 2 weeks to reach from the North East part of India. ARB winch(runva 8k lbs) compatible front bumpers and dual swing rear. Both the truck got pair of spots on the front bumper(BD LP pro 4) with S1 led fog lamps swap with the stock one's, A pillars flood (BD S1 amber), headlights are stock, couple of rack mounted leds(cheap), 1 high lift jack, shovels, traction boards(Amazon). One got manager 30 system with 120 w lithium, we got stock TC, HDC and E rear locker, yakima racks with RTT, ARB awning (e-bay), 2 inch lift with Fulcrum suspension, Bridgestone 33s A/T, we carry a lot of jerry-can cause we don't have long range fuel system, one truck spare has to be located in the stock carrier (cuts and trims) so, that it carry more jerrys, at one point we bought petrol from a loaded tanker on the road. Climbing was tough, challenging and scary cause on the left there's nothing but a thousand feet drop down. Elevation sickness make us stationary for one full day. We got lots of pictures and few videos(GoPro).

I love that you guys do full engineering and 3-D scanning for the best products over many months. Meanwhile, I slap together a build with left over plywood and fashion myself a setup in a day. Different approaches but you have to laugh at the gap between my channel and yours. Probably why you guys are so successful too. You guys are crushing it and it gave me some good ideas 👍 Always good to see my state in Australia getting a shout-out too. We need more 🇺🇸 products over here and you need more 🇦🇺 products over there.

I absolutely loved the Alaska show! This is so cool to see the truck being built so close to where I live! (Coeur d’Alene).

I can’t express how much I love this series and what you guys stand for! I’ve been home sick and stumbled across your channel and instantly subscribed. I just finished season 3 and loved what you said at the end. “The road that teaches you the most about yourself, is the one you’ve never been down.” So True!

The presenter's beard appears to grow at the same rate as the build progress. 10/10

Super expensive builds for your average overlander, but this looks like the best-of-the-best product consolidation from different vendors. Very cool

I know this is a little off topic but watching you get that PCOR delivery as an MTS driver that currently pulls that exact trailer in a completely different town seeing that trailer was quite unexpected and gave me a pretty good laugh. Been a fan for a few years, and always love seeing what you're up to. keep it up!
