wow the KH80s are by far the best out of the two! The KH80s are incredible!

Wow, the Nuemann and Focal sounded near identical in Metal Head. I would give the edge to the Focals though, it has a more transparent high end. Only thing that goes to the Neumann is the bass.

I like Neumann sound :) But Focal is not too bad.

Shape 40 sonically has more vocal characteristics. There's a bump at 1 to 2kHz while not being hyped. Nice mid.
Shape 40 is also very transparent (above lower mid-range), but maybe this is somewhat because of lacking bass.
It's boomy without deep enough LF extension. Try to place them closer to the front wall and EQ(cut) the LF/LMF on the rear panel to justify the bass.
I wonder how Shape 50 vs KH 120 would be.

There are much more transient details with the focals and spacial information. The Neumanns sound muffled and less detailed and tight.

I am listening this test on professional monitors.

To me, Neumann clearly has exaggerated base, while Focal gives a better presence due to more musical mids.

At Long night track so close the loudspeakers. At the Return to wild the Neumann more balanced. Generally the Focal have more mid high, what little weird because we can't see on response curve.

I can hear a lot more of the mids information on the focals..it feels buried on the kh80. Incredible focals

The Neumann has a noticeably better bass extension. Would do a lot better than the Focal on techno/house.

Naumanns are excelent as always, but focals are pretty acurate. That bump at 55hz for the neumanns, is it a room mode or is it an actual bump of the speakers?
