How to use Miracast on the Pioneer new AVH 4200NEX, AVIC 6200, 7200, 8200NEX

This feature is on the Avic 6200NEX, Avic 7200NEX, Avic 8200NEX, and the AVH 4200NEX( or older version of these radios). Excellent vid. This is the best way to stream everything from an android (miracast enable) smartphone to you car head unit. GPS, Youtube, VLC, Kodi, TuneIn, games, etc. Some miracast dongle require sufficient voltage from the usb to power the dongle, i would suggest for those who wants to do this need to make sure to do proper survey before buying any miracast wifi enable dongle. once again, EXCELLENT VID!!!

All I had to get was a lightning AV adapter and a hdmi cord and plugged it up and that's it. Works like a champ plays everything on my iPhone everything. I don't have social media but it plays that as well

hello thanks for this video! I got it working on the main head unit (avh-4200) but the rear screens aren't working... even though I have the 'Rear mirror' activated in the settings. any idea why this isn't working?

I really appreciate your YouTube channel/videos. I am a professional auto technician with over 25 years experience. I have been using them to learn about how to use my new pioneer AVH-X490BS & all the great features it is capable of. I am doing a full system. Amp, capacitor, speakers, sound deadening, sub woofer, rear camera, and the Mira cast from Belkin. I do have a question about the one and only USB on the back of the head unit. I plan on making this all look factory installed when done. I plan on using a dash mounted remote USB & AUX port. I was thinking of using a 4 port 3.0 USB HUB to split the one USB on the back of the head unit to power the Miracast dongle & charge my phone when needed. Is this asking too much of the pioneer AVH-X490BS USB port for power requirements?

Thanks again for all the videos tips and tricks, I followed your micro by-pass and got everything working. Now with my miracast questions:
1. Can both usb ports be used; one powering the miracast, the port to utilize for a usb device? -I tried it this way at first, I had the bottom usb plugged in with the included usb cable extender. When i powered it back on, the bluetooth audio on my android wouldn't connect.
2. So now, my connection is miracast on hdmi/top usb and unplugged bottom usb alone. But the HDMI is still grayed out on my unit. I haven't checked the HDMI extender to see if its bad, but I did test the miracast unit on my tv and it works. Is there a setting I need to turn on?
3. Just out of curiousity, I thought I heard y'all mention that the top is apple and bottom is andoid in one of your many video, but I may not heard it correctly. Can you comment on this?

Despite the miracast working, I do want to have my android work with this unit at its fullest potential. My friend has an iphone and he uses carplay to utilize the maps without the miracast.

great setup how to. thanks. Is there any kind of video playback stutter when being viewed or any king of vocal lag like BT video transmission tends to do on low latency equipment causing vocals/sounds to not sync with video playback. I know mirror link was horrendous for all of those issues. Is miracasting truly HDMI direct type quality? Really want to know if it's just a better video quality to just be HDMI from Android phone rather than miracasting. Thanks so much.

What's the current status on this?
I'm installing a 8200NEX in 2019.
I got curious and looked at video output from my phone to the headunit. It's pretty weird since the H/U get's all pissy if you're using USB vs bluetooth vs the HDMI cable. Some BS about 'appradio' and 'avicsync' blah blah.

I started looking into USB-c to HDMI adapters (the MHL) which is basically the corded version of the Miracast here.
The 8200NEX install manual mentions nothing about Miracast, but gives instructions for using their MHL kit.
I go to check that out, and all the reviews on Amazon say it doesn't work.

What's the current solution for getting video to display ?

Works well thankyou. One problem i do have is every 30 seconds or so while watching youtube it seems to stutter.
Avh 8850bt using a S9 with the belkin dongle.

iPhone can stream Netflix, Hulu, iTunes Movies and anything else that is displayed on your phone with the Apple Digital AV adapter connected to the HDMI port. Just like the video, you need a power supply to activate it. Once activated, you can safely disconnect the power supply. Obviously with the Digital AV Adapter, you're not wireless so you should pick up a long flat HDMI cable and Lightning cable.

Here is a question for you:
Can the HDMI input be directed to the rear screen ? i.e. say I have the AV out directed to the rear screen via a idatalink Maestro AVCHI harness? Having the screen output from the phone just on the head unit is not that useful when driving.
