Mr. Daniele Catelani is Senior Project Manager at MSC Software. He is also technical manager for University Program in Italy. His main tasks currently consist in consulting, support, development, training and management of technical projects in Aerospace and Machinery industries. His activity is carried out in the field of multibody and multidiscipline simulation, involving integration between multibody system, finite element analysis, control systems, computational fluid dynamics. He has participated in the development of features and toolkits of the MSC Adams package. He has been MSC project manager and coordinator for Simulation Data Management and Vertical products integration for Aerospace companies. He is technical coordinator of all MSC Conferences and Events in Italy from 2006. He is instructor for Adams, FEM, and many other courses in all Italian universities and he has been tutor for hundreds of students from 1994, and at the same time technical consultant for main OEM like Ferrari, Pirelli, BMW, Airbus, AleniaAermacchi, AgustaWestland, Tetrapak, CRF, CNR-ITIA, Volkswagen, and many other He has been also co-author of “Cinematica e Dinamica dei Sistemi Multibody – Vol .II” and of many scientific and technical publications.

This workshop is focused on the multidisciplinary approach to design and simulation, with the main target to provide a full overview about the most advanced solutions for integrating different technologies, methodologies and competence in order to achieve the design of a complex integrated systems as high-lift devices. The presentation will include description of the features and challenges of the multidisciplinary analysis, the need for integration of tools but also for the collaboration among engineering department and groups. The participants will use the main MSC Software tools for simulation and optimization of a high-lift model during an interactive hands-on session. The workshop will be concluded by an introduction of the simulation trends towards the so-called Digital Twin and the “game changer” represented by the Machine Learning capabilities.
