I just realised that 3:37 is a quote from Mendelssohn's Wedding March! 😱

This is an absolutely wonderful interpretation of this work. I've played in and it sounded nothing like this. What an unbelievable conductor Jarvi is. Just amazing.

Is it even legal for a "serious" orchestra to have that much fun??

Loved it - thanks! And special kudos to the pianist, not just for the goofy cadenza, but for the rest, too.

Memories of playing the the trombone in this 50 years ago as an invited guest in a sixth form college orchestra 😎.

Lovely, but it would be nice to see Jarvi push the envelope a bit with some less familiar Ibert.

As a professional classical pianist, I will confirm that you are NOT supposed to have THAT much fun when performing on a stage. What a Disgrace!!!🤣

This is so much fun! I know that this music was originally part of the incidental music and songs for a production of a stage play called An Italian Straw Hat---where can I find that original incidental music?

cette interpretation est parfaite mais....il y manque un petit coté dépeigné, potache, debrayé etc...le coté humour anglais, distingué et faussement maladroit, entre guillemets...!
