Uncertainty is looming over the Taiwan Strait again after US President Donald Trump signed the National Defense Authorization Act on December 12. The bill includes a provision that makes US naval visits to Taiwan possible. China is fuming and warns that the US legislation represents a provocation against China’s sovereignty and national unity, and will be met with severe consequences. Why did Trump sign the controversial bill? What is the biggest risk factor in the Taiwan Strait? And with some mentioning war, what provocations are likely to threaten the status quo?

*China builds an Island in the middle of the ocean then states no one can come close like a small child with their own toys but the trade route for shipping has been long going through these areas and to disrupt this trade route is China's own fault for action against them**

Being upset is no use. But to be prepared for regime change is a more proactive step.

It looks like China will have to review on how it conducts it's foreign and security policy. China might have to get it's own formal military allies in order to secure it's (future) interests abroad. China is so-called building the Silk Road, but those routes might get destabilized by the USA's instigated ''revolutions'' or direct intervention. I can see USA invading/destabilizing Iran, Pakistan and Myanmar, maybe even Kazakhstan, to fail China's overland trade aspiration. US is a naval power, and they are present in key strategic areas like Singapore strait, and they seem keen to bring in Japan, India, and perhaps Taiwan. Not to mention the destabilization a new Korean war can bring for China. Now how will China respond? I have some suggestions, but i will keep them to myself.

It’s bogus trying to look over shoulders of others while budgeting your own military budgets. Do what your capabilities enables you to .

South Korea, Japan have Modern navies India has a similar large but also not so modern navy as China with many 4th gen jets and out dated ships subs and China has only one aircraft carrier... China cant afford to not listen the US or the US can stop it half its yearly income 2 trillion dollars. It is wise to note the US and its Allies( South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, France, Israel) have over 85% of "All" Modern Military might in the world. It is also wise to note that Russia has a great reason to side with India not China as they have joint defence developments plans
