THE JACKSON 5 Perform 'Zip Ah Dee Doo Dah' - RARE Rehearsal 1970

I managed to edit together segment of this performance using clips from this rehearsal that I found for various documentaries & edited them together with audio from the full report from this rehearsal. All footage of this is very rare, finding an syncing the high quality stuff was quite a task!

This was in Feb 1970, Janet was just a little baby literally 3 years old. How cool to have footage of yourself that young and from that era! Her & my mother were the same age (r.i.p) and it would have been wild to see her so young in the 70's. I was born in the early 90's and the Jackson 5 are still my fav "boyband" of all time!

In pre-k when I was 3, my mother always told the story that I told my teacher (who coincidentally was called Janet!), that I was going to "marry Michael Jackson". The teacher apparently laughed & told me, "Baby, when you are old enough to marry Michael Jackson, he will be an old man".

Sadly, by the time I was old enough to get married period, Michael died the month after in June 09... He also wasn't an "old man", like my pre-k teacher said! However, this was 94, so she was pretty young like my mother (mid 20's ish). So I guess 50 felt "old" to them! At 30 now, I know better. If I could have lived through any era it would have been the 70's. I was would have been in my 20's then or in my 20's during the 90's.

I love this! All of their performances were great here, and you could see how Michael stood out. Michael's performance, and his shirt, was so cute! The Jackson's always dressed so fine, even as children!!

Joe even clapped for his sons. Meaning he was impressed. That shows he loves all his children and had big dreams for them. He was a great dad to be able to see the destinies of all his children and help them to nurture it early thereby making the greatest out of them. I pray for that kind of parent for my kids.

So, Janet Jackson was at the rehearsals. Watching her brother’s work and bringing home the bacon. La toya Jackson was not seen. Now, I understand why she sucks at music performance. Good thing she know how to write number one hits.
