What is the need of connecting the manometers to a common manifold with an air valve
instead of keeping the manometers open to the atmosphere??

Maam actually i performed this practical today and opened the inlet and outlet valve simultaneously but the water in manometer tube D was going down and not in E. Meanwhile water was going out from air valve too..why was this so? Can u help plz
