Cheerson CX35 Large Altitude Hold FPV Drone Flight Test Review

preview_player
Показать описание

Pro's
- Stable altitude hold feature.
- Automatic takeoff and landing.
- 2MP/720p video camera and 5.8 Ghz FPV transmitter and receiver/monitor. Includes a flat panel antenna with excellent FPV reception, advertised at up to 500m..
- Remote controlled, smooth tilting camera gimbal.
- Does not fall from the sky if low battery LED warning is ignored. Instead as a secondary LVC, the quadcopter will enter into a slow descent to a gentle landing. Once it gets close to the ground, the barometer senses ground effect pressure increase to automatically adjust the throttle for a very gentle landing. This feature is actually very impressive, and demonstrated in the above video at 14:07.
- Stable flier, providing relatively smooth aerial video.
- Includes headless mode and one key return.

Con's
- Short flight time. Advertised at 7 minutes, but my flights were only a little over 5 minutes.
- Control of the quadcopter is minimal during automatic low power battery descent.
- Although 500m reception range may be possible with its flat panel antenna. But the quadcopter's controller is only advertised at 100m. Thus you may not really be able to fly FPV out to its maximum reception range as you will likely lose control of the quadcopter.
- Over 250 grams weight, requires FAA registration.

And here is its flight demonstration

The props sound like they aren't balanced so I suspect that's the reason for the jello in the videos otherwise it looks like a
decent quad except for the run time on the battery. Putting the "Specifications Listing" in the review is a BIG PLUS! Real good
review on the "Leopard" quad and thanks for it.

Like the features. Dislike the short flight time.
They get more complex but give you no more time to enjoy the complexity.

looks like a great flyer with a huge plastic body.I just ordered cx35 main and transmitter boards for my xinxun x56f that has range issues and for my much lighter v262 frame.

Thank you so much for posting a review on this one! Great timing :)

Not bad. Do you think you could replace the camera with a Mobius or Runcam some how since they have their own battery and get longer flight time. Or maybe put different battery in. It seem to have some potential to be a FPV camera platform if you could get rid of the jello. Thanks for the review.

Better dampeners (looks like standard dampeners so should be easy to replace), blade balancing, and post processing such as Final Cut Pro X and the jello will be gone. The weak flight time for the price of this is what does it in. The gimbal is nice though.

Quadcopter 101, great review, I am impressed with this quadcopter but do you think the RTH function is a let down and a deal breaker?

I hope Syma scouts this out before releasing their X8H ... no proprietary connectors and 5.8ghz FPV. The X8 has 2000mah batteries which should give better flight times, but I was able to find some 2200mah which give an extra minute or 2. Like you, it seems a good quad, but flight times are just TOO short ... especially for what is a camera/FPV bird. Good that it lands softly, but you better be running a timer so you don't land in a bad place (like a lake). Thanks for a good review .. hope Syma takes note!

What is better? This Cheerson CX-35 or WLtoys Q303A? The Q303A has both 1 axis gimbal or also tilt up and down but cx35 does only tilt up and down. Also q303a can set both manual and attitude hold. Q303 has more pro look transmitter.

Nice lookin quad! I don't understand why they would build a quad that only flies for 5 min! I wouldn't want one unless the batteries are dirt cheap.
Keep up the videos, I'm finally catching up with seeing them all.

Nice review.. Must be really heavy for that short flight. Love that it is FPV and the gimbal.  I am sure the jello could be fixed. But the flight time...to bad the battery bay is tight,  maybe strap a larger battery on top?? Thanks for the thorough review!

I wonder if those anti-vibration dampers are swappable with other, softer ones to reduce the jello. Camera quality seems to be better than average and that is kind of a waste.

Any chance of you doing a review of the Phantom 4? I am planning to purchase my very first Qaudcopter and would like advice as to which is the best for the money and a beginner... My desire is range for photography. Perhaps later something with a tracking mode (which is why I asked about the Phantom 4). Thanks for your videos and reviews. They're awesome!
