BakerRisk recently performed vapor cloud explosion (VCE) testing on an 8-psi unanchored steel blast resistant module (BRM) and an unanchored 5-psi precast concrete multi-hazard resistant module (MRM) to validate and demonstrate the consequences of VCEs on the interior of unanchored portable modules.

Facilities handling hazardous materials often utilize portable modules to house critical equipment and/or personnel needed near high-hazard areas. While portable modules may survive after an accident such as a VCE, does that mean the contents of the module are safe and protected from non-structural debris hazards?

As you can see in this video, there was a significant difference in the response of the steel BRM and the precast concrete MRB.
How far do you think the BRM slid? Share your guesses below. 👇 Hint: the Defender only moved about 1 inch from the original position.
