Snape was powerful but he was weak in the hands of love. He loved Harry's mother so much that he never let her go and always looked out for Harry well being. He promised his mother that he will look after Harry and let go of that promise and hence ended his life without even thinking about it for one second.

This is an absolute MASTERPIECE. The song is so perfect for them and your editing showcases it SO WELL by highlighting the lyrics "I had all and then most of you Some and now none of you" as they drifted over the years and then "Haunted by the ghost of you."
