I agree 100% and was just as shocked when it happened. Refs being responsible for the lose I cant say but their decision did alter things unnecessarily.

Actually, if you watched the game, even the announcers said that they blew it dead because the refs thought the camera in the back of the neat became dislodged which they have the right to do. Refs are not the reason The Panthers are losing the series. Lets be honest, Vegas is a deeper and better team.

That's hockey. Sometimes the calls go your way, sometimes a dude blows a phantom whistle. I think he was going to call a penalty, then thought better of it, got his head wiring twisted and blew the whistle. Bad break. They happen. It's completely normal.

McCauley is off the rails at this point. Blowing phantom whistles. Not calling be-headings for the first 2 periods then he will call ticky tack stuff in the 3rd. He hates the Leafs who are 0-11 in playoff games he's reffed. The last Leafs playoff game he reffed against Florida the Leafs got zero powerplays for the first time all season....against the most penalized team in the league. It was also the first game the Panthers weren't penalized all season. That's just too many coincidences for me. The guy is absolutely biased and over manages every game he refs.

I’m not even a panthers fan and I thought it was a bad whistle and honestly could have changed that whole game who knows. BUT refs make bad calls for every team, all the time it’s just part of the game as frustrating as it is.

Not even a Panthers fan and they definitely got screwed. Blowing the play dead for no reason or justification and then witnessing a blatant cross check and not calling it? What are the rules in place for if the referee doesn't enforce them?

The officiating has sucked the entire playoffs. Wes Macauley is one of the worst. But Florida continues to shoot themselves in the foot penalty wise. I need Tkachuk to play tonight so he can cement his legacy as an absolute prick in the record books.

I’m a ref, when a goalie loses their stick as a result of an opponents actions, whether goaltender interference or not, and it creates a goal the referee can disallow the goal. They can also opt to blow the play dead, even if they don’t assess a penalty as an opportunity for the goalie to recover, even if it wasn’t a penalty.

Panthers have acted like a bunch of goons the entire playoffs.
They’re antics have overshadowed Vegas’s solid playoff run and season. I’ll be glad when Maurice chalks up his league leading playoff coaching loss and it’s over .
Then can go back to playing in front of a half empty building next year, again.

as a vgk fan, tf is this. the refereeing this series has been terrible. with seemingly missed calls left and right and weird stuff like this.

Obviously I don't agree with panthers fans saying "rigged" and I don't think the refereeing will have an overall affect on the outcome of the series, but still.

If the refs were calling the intent to injure penalties throughout these playoffs then Tkachuk & Bennett would've been suspended in the Bruins series & the Leafs series against Hathaway & Knies. Panthers wouldn't even have made it to round 2 on that BS hand pass call on DeBrusk after a slew foot & cross check to his back that took a goal away. No calls against Vegas & Oilers. The refs helped both of these teams to the finals. I don't think the Leafs were though enough to hang with the Bruins & Canes were too banged up. In my opinion it should've been Oilers vs Bruins in the finals.

I don't think so.. Wes blew it bc Tkachuk got a goalie interference penalty. If Montour had scored it would have to be waived. If anything Wes actually helper the Panthers by not calling the penalty and just redoing the face off.

Panthers are playing with 2 lines and one player with Tkachuk and Duclair hurt or unable to breathe. That's pretty sinister when you've already shortened the bench. A lot of the time it's two lines against 4. Vegas also has the best and deepest Dee.
