I've noticed that Santa Claus postcards have dropped a lot in price. Which is a shame as I loved to sell them but now there's no profit to be had. I guess the trend depends on the niche of postcards - maybe other niches are on the uprise. You are absolutely right about the not be legal to ship any merchandise as regular mail - and I believe it is a worldwide agreement. Here in Portugal you can also not ship like that. It seems though that many sellers though and buyers sometimes expect it so. I had an UK buyer once that was surprised he had to pay customs because he was used to receive mail from Europe as regular mail. I'd rather be on the safe - and legal - side.
