Soldier Blue (1971) with it's heartbreaking ending. Starts with Soldiers being mascacred by Indians, then plods in a light mannered way leading up to the horrific ending (the ending being based on a real life masacre). The title song by Buffy Saint Marie fits into What the native American had to Suffer. With Candice Bergan and Peter Straus both brilliant.
