Qin got to be tested 4 to 7 times per day, randomly, that's what happened to his individual, all of them sometimes got called up at nights in Paris for the tests, according to Team China's after match interviews. Guess it is what happened to them, angered Pan vow to revenge.

Bobby Finke's world record was THE highlight of the Paris Olympics for me, full stop. Talk about suspense in long distance. Really happy he just made it. I'd encourage everyone to try and swim 1500 metres in 14 and a half minutes to fully appreciate this record.

Finke was pissed about losing the 800m. Good for Wiffen as well.
One UK swimmer who I think would be worth talking to is Honey Osrin she impressed going 2.07 for 200m back and we need a break out female swimmer.
Sad its over

I’d love to see an Angharad Evans interview.

Great content guys! I know you will deep dive in a later podcast about GB's performance, but from my side I think it was overall rather mixed. Obviously missing out on 3 golds by a combined difference of less than a tenth is tough and if these touches went GB's way then we would have left the meet with a much more positive feeling.

Instead, we have to be honest and admit that the overall performance of the squad was down from Tokyo:
1 Gold in Paris vs 4 in Tokyo
5 medals total in Paris vs 8 in Tokyo
15 GB representatives in individual finals in Paris vs 18 in Tokyo

In my opinion, a large part of this slight downturn in performance centres on GB not being able to bring through in this last Olympic cycle, any new swimmers who have been able to compete for international podiums (perhaps aside from Richards, but who was already a Gold medal winner from Tokyo). The team is still reliant on the established stars such as Peaty, Proud and Scott as well as swimmers such as Guy, Hopkin and Dawson to come good in the relays like they were able to do in Tokyo.

Going into this next Olympic cycle, hopefully we will start to see some new talent emerging and the likes of Colbert, Osrin, Shanahan etc make that jump from being happy to make a final to being up there contending in the medal conversation at international level.

Not sure why you're so sour about Sun Yang's world record? He's still one of the greatest distance and mid distance swimmers of all time, and certainly better than the likes of Mack Horton. I'd be extremely pleased to see Adam Peatys world record go

Oleksiak probably would've posted a better time, but it's hard to see that being enough for bronze. She would've needed a 52.5, but considering she wasn't able to post an olympic qualifying time in the 100m free individual this year (53.61), I think that split is a bit beyond her reach even if she is a great racer. She swam 53.2 and 52.9 splits in these games. I think 52.9 is right around her ceiling.

I thought Oleksiak would get the nod as well, but I don't think she would have made the difference. She did 2 relays and swam a 53.2 and a 52.9 and would have needed to swim a 52.5 to get the bronze. Possible, but based on the other 2 swims it's highly unlikely

You guys show that GB can be open-minded. While US swimmers consistently show more grace than coaches and fans, GB swimmers consistently reflected their limited view of sportsmanship.

I would like to see Adam peaty and Bobby finke

I won't get too excited about any records until the sport is perceived as perfectly clean. I know they test like mad however there still appears to be loopholes.
