I feel like April was a slow reading month for me too. By the time the month is over I will have only read 5 books, which usually I read about 7-8 books a month. I can't wait to hear what you think about Amari and the Night Brothers!

I have been in a reading slump. I only finished 5 books. And I haven't read but a couple of chapters in almost 2 weeks. And that was one chapter in a total of 2 books. I have just been super tired and I had my niece last week for almost a week. Hopefully May will be better. Hope your having a great day.

I read Amari & the Night Brothers in March. I loved it! It's one of my favorite books of 2021! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. Blood like magic has a gorgeous cover and it sounds really interesting, I'll have to add it to my tbr. Oooh, Return of the Sorceress also has a pretty cover, and I just finished reading Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia (so good), so I'm interested in checking out another book by her. This Poison Heart sounds good too. Aahhh! Too many books to add to the tbr! It's never ending! 🤣 In May, our bookclub is reading Witches Steeped in Gold! Super excited about it, it was one of my most anticipated books of 2021!

Mood reader here! Just pulled out of a reading slump that attacked me in April. I really want to knock out some fantasy book series in May. I'd like to finish the Poppy War Series and the Sythe series. I loved both first books. The Poppy War is an all time fav for me. I have a buddy read planned: Southern Bookclub's Guide to Slaying Vampires and I'm beyond excited. I also started reading the Grishaverse so I'd like to get close to wrapping that up as well an binge it so they arent hanging over me. We'll see where my mood takes me. But the buddy read and the Poppy War series will def happen.

Please read Amari first, I am 82 pages away from reading it and I am loving this book so much. Another top ten book for this year!

Whatever I haven't finished will roll over to May, but my plans for next month are: House in the Cerulean Sea, She Came to Slay, Uncommon Type (book by Tom Hanks not sure if the title is correct), A Little Princess, Promised Neverland, still reading Mythos, will probably roll over You Are Not Alone and the second book in the Murderbot Diaries, and if I can I want to start The Kingdom of Copper.

I think I tend to read more around this time because when I was a kid I loved the summer reading program at my library. I know they have them for adults so I am hoping to participate as well as my boys.

I will be concentrating on books for two readathons - Desertathon and Asiathon. I keep pushing back books that got left behind in the shuffle as a poly reader. Looking forward to reading Trial of Lightning and finishing Dublin Murder Squad series - The Likeness and maybe finally reading Deathless Divide.

I just started reading Daisy Jones & The Six. I like it so far. It feels like you're reading about an actual 70s rock band with interviews included. It's almost like the book version of Almost Famous

My reading plans for May....that is a great question. Lol. Going to try to reread Lioness Rampant as well as get back into Criminal Intetions by Cole McCade. And I need to see what the book club picks are for people I am a Patron of.
