These idents will forever be remembered by viewers of Channel 4 and ident and logo enthusiasts, and pretty much everyone who discovered these memorable idents.

The CGI is wonderfully animated, and it's from 1982, and animated by the late graphic design master known as Martin Lambie-Nairn, who put all of his heart and soul into these idents.

One of the best set of idents for the channel's first branding identity, and one of the best branding identites in the UK, if not, of all time.

I may not be alive at the time, but seriously, those are well deserving of the term Iconic. I remember lurking through TVARK and some old VHS tapes, and even I recognize the iconic logo.

R.I.P. to Martin Lambie-Nairn. I still can't believe it's been over a year since he's no longer with us, but like the BBC 2 1991 idents, these are also a classic bunch of idents.
We've missed you, man.

I wish that channel 4 did a mix of idents from the past and present. The coloured blocks and the metallic walking ident.

The original Channel 4 idents were simple and beautiful. The millennial ones were mysterious and interesting, with wonderful variety. The latest ones, where all the fragments just fall into view, have just lost the plot.
