My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.

On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Enjoy browsing!

Love,
Lucy

"I'm a little teapot, short and stout/This is my handle, this is my spout" is an old American nursery rhyme. :D Though tea coming out part is utterly adorable. :D

you could also stuff the pincushion with tiny scraps that you shredded...

Makes me so happy when you put sewing in your tagline of "sewing, beauty and lifestyle content"! Live your best lift, girl!

I love these ideas, could you maybe make more of these videos in the future?

For the wrist pin cushion I suggest putting a bit of cardboard (or whatever material you prefer) in the bottom, so that if you bump your wrist against something, there's a harder layer that's stopping the pins from going through and stabbing you. I learned this the hard way.

Scrap fabric can also be used as stuffing! I do a lot of crochet plushies so I often stuff them with a combination of regular suffing and scrap fabric, the tiniest scraps you can do nothing with x) Could be used also for small projects like the wrist pin-cushion!

Nothing better than a Loepsie video to cheer me up. Great timing!

Edit: an finally a good tutorial for a headband without a knot in it. Sorry, I've tried to find one in the past and could not, for the life of me, find one that was like this.

Hello Lucy and that’s the best sewing video I’ve seen as you do some good sewing videos as you’re very clever in what you do and make it enjoyable to follow as one can learn from your skills and I’m lucky that I have a decent level of needle work skills as I’ve done bits of sewing during my years though to be honest I’ve never used a sewing machine and I’d like to invest in a small sewing machine so I can do more sewing work and love how you recycle leftover fabrics and put them to good use as me being a carpenter and joiner when at work or doing stuff at home I like to keep the off cuts and rippings and shavings sawdust etc and use them as timber/lumber/wood is a very valuable natural resource so that’s it for now only I always look forward to watching your teatime videos as I’m an avid tea drinker and you make me cheerful and relaxed when you so your teatime videos so until the next time take care stay safe and cheerio

love that cozy. i used scraps the create pattern weights. i purchased flat netal washers in various sizes, made patterns for each size by laying the washer on paper, then drawing a circle twice the size of the washer, used button thread to stitch close to the edge of the fabric, laid the washer inside and drew the fabric around by tightly pulling the free ends of the thread. i then tied four knots. voila! pattern weights.

I've been watching your videos for years so I've been following your sewing progress from the very beginning and I must say that it is a joy to see you so dedicated to this craft! I must say, however, that I've noticed a slight change in your editing style and I'm really enjoying it as well. I especially appreciated that little Rachel-Maksy-esque zoom as you said scraps haha. Congratulations on your progress, Lucy! <3

Ah, the ever growing cabbage patch! Mine started out as one drawer, now it’s two and a half. I really do need to do some cabbage busters.

I also need to sort my cabbage, I think- larger scraps I could conceivably do something with, and tiny scraps that are only good for cutting up further and stuffing things with.

But there are so many other pretty things to make that it just gets pushed down my list, further and further. I have made a heap of masks this year though, but they’re not as useful right now in Australia, given the lack of covid here. Which is nice, but it means less cabbage busting projects. I think I might make a few scrunches for my daughter though.

I just snapped my last bobble (hair tie) yesterday and was thinking of being sustainable and using my leftover elastic and fabric scraps to make scrunchies. Thanks for the measurements 👍
