This is how the churches seperated, each have their own opinion on what the word of God is saying... The word of God is clear, without any confusion, yet we try to interpret it to appease those around us. God is the judge.

How they should apply today is how they always applied. We weren’t given a culture, we were given a faith.

It’s not about the culture dude. It’s about obeying the Word of God despite the culture. What does that even mean ‘the culture’? Does God’s word take a break? It’s a horrible laissez-faire attitude to take towards scripture.

You should ask yourself why this custom was literally imposed wherever Christianity was taken, as a universal practice especially among women, of head covering during the Divine Liturgy.

Many Protestant evangelicals do not believe in the Real Presence, so do what you want. But that is precisely why the practice was imposed from Ireland to Gaul to Italy Greece and the steppes of Siberia to Arabia, Egypt, Ethiopia.

Because the early Christians were Jewish men who carried and used the Tallit. Jesus wore one. As did all the apostles.

Messianic Jews are reviving the practice, and we should too. Yes, men SHOULD cover their heads. It’s not about the special dignity of womanhood or communists like Betty Friedan asserting it teaches the inferiority of women. Rather, it acknowledges the Divine Presence in the consecrated bread and wine.
