Excellent review of the four tapes. I currently use the blue tape for watercolor techniques. Recently, I purchased the new look version of the Purple tape. It doesn't hold very well to dies. So it doesn't work as intended. This includes both, 1.5 inch and .50 sizes. Bummer!

thanks for sharing. I tend to use post-it notes.

I just ordered the paper tape. I had considered the purple tape simply because it was new, glad I hadn’t gotten around to it. Thanks for your video!

I have primarily used blue painters tape because I had left overs from a paint job done years ago. It has done a good job. I have also used the micropore tape, washi tape, and the post it tape. I just bought my first roll of purple tape and so far it has worked good. I have liked each of them for various types of paper. Thanks for taking the time to give a very thorough review for them.

Thanks for review. I watch a lot of YouTube and don’t see much, if not any purple tape anymore and wondered what a reviewer had to say. I never spent the money because I have a ton of tape already and it was too expensive. You were spot on evidently.

Good job at comparing the tapes. I haven't run out and purchased the new purple tape yet and your thorough testing helps with my decision. Most of the time I use painters tape and some of the time I use the paper tape. The other product I have used on occasion is post-it note tape; that can be a bit pricey but wears well. Thanks for the review. It is extremely helpful to see the comparisons. What I don't understand is why the makers of these products don't provide a comparison of their product. I am going to stick to what I currently use.

Thanks for the video - helped me decide on whether or not to get the purple tape or blue painter's tape. I ended up buying blue painter's tape and also a roll of basic masking tape to see if there was a difference in tackiness, tearing paper, etc., between those two (I was at Home Depot). The basic masking tape was a little over $1 for the roll and the blue painter's tape was about $5. Haven't run any tests yet...

Great comparison - thank you so much! I wondered about the purple tape and it is even dearer here in Australia. I will stick to my paper (micropore) tape as you can buy it in all sorts of widths and is dirt-cheap by comparison. I do use the blue painter's tape for when I do watercolour backgrounds or stencilling so will stick with that instead of getting the purple tape.

I agree purple tape is okay but when I use it up will go back to blue painter's tape easy to get and in my opinion does a better job.

I have been using the blue painters tape. Then when the purple take came out, I had to try it. So I will use my purple tape until it runs out the go back to the blue tape. Yep you were right the purple tape is expensive. Thanks for giving us a demo on the different tapes. I was wondering about the different ones. So have a great Memorial weekend.

Always used washi tape for die cutting, and never was happy with it, I just put up with it, because I have lots of it, lol . I will be splurging on that purple tape. Thanks for the review.

I will stay with the micropore paper tape! This tape seems the best to me after viewing your video! Thanks for sharing this video 😁.

A great, very useful video. I use old, ugly washi tape, but maybe I deserve better!

Great review, I will not be buying the purple tape, to expensive, I'd rather buy stamps or dies, I buy the paper tape from dollar tree, and use it over and over and over...
