How to Measure Your Well GOOD/BAD

Do you live off the beaten path? Are you curious to know how much water is in your well? How about during the summer months, are you curious to know the change in well water height? Well check this video out BEFORE you do any measuring.

Clean your measuring device with a bleach solution
Dont use a large weight, use a small food safe one
Dont have anything that can hangup on the pump or wires
When all else failes, call someone who knows what they are doing
Dont touch the pipe, dont even think about it

A month before we went on lock down people thought I was crazy getting ready.

Two weeks before lock down people at work still thought it was "just a bad flu".

You’ve got a reasonable approach to being prepared. All of us need to do that and what we do and how we do it depends on where and how we live.
The continuum of being prepared starts on one end with a person stockpiling hundreds and hundreds of gallons of fuel, buying tens of thousands rounds of ammunition to the person who sits on their couch waiting for someone to bring them what they now can’t get. You seem comfortably left of the midline. Strong work!

Here in Ohio it is required that well drillers file the drill logs with the county and they are public record. You may have hit a torque arrestor above the pump.

So a while back Cody gave you a shout out and like every shout out he gave before iv gone over and followed them channels.
I found after a while no less than 10 or so vids the channels weren't for me as they failed to keep me entertained.

Iv followed along and found some things here and there interesting. Then you posted this and I see why he directed me here, this was a good video and hope to see more like it.
Oh and don't EVER apolagise for being ready because people like you and Cody help me to get ready. Not for dooms day, just for a bad day or two.

Wranglerstar doesn’t have a storage tank on his water system, so the hand pump makes sense for him. I saw his video and considered getting one but my conclusion was the better system is well pump-storage tank-gravity feed to a small pressure pump for the house. A relatively modest tank can be filled in short order using a generator if the power goes out. An alternative is to use a small solar powered pump delivering 2-3 gph to the storage tank.
The delivery from the Simple Pump is impractical for whole house use, and trying to pressurize your system with it will only deliver a few gallons before the pressure bleeds it does have the advantage of not needing gas.

On a remote property I own I built a water tower with a solar powered pump to a 600 gal tank. Works like a charm. It would only take one of the solar panels you already have.

Hi, Jeff... haven't commented for awhile, but with the whole 'stay home' thing going on... I'm bored! LOL I've worked on a few DIY wells (my own and friends & family), and in the first 1/2 second of seeing your plumb bob, I mentally screamed 'Oh, NO!!' I always tried to use something slender, and at the top of 'whatever', you can use well wrapped electricians tape to form a cone shaped transition to the lowering cord to slide past things on the way up. I usually just used parachute cord, and then measured it lying on the ground. Entertaining video.... gotta wonder sometimes if the dogs aren't just thinking 'Ok, crazy human of mine... what are you up to now!!???' More seriously tho… and not saying there is no value in the 'preparations' you're making for the normal disasters that can affect us, it makes me sad that more people, even 'Christians', aren't ready for the REAL issue approaching. See Dan 2:44, 45 When this is fulfilled, there will be survivors (Mt 24:9-22, esp vs 13 & 22) but many will be taken by surprise, saying 'But, but, but...' See Mt 7, esp vss 21-23. You need to tighten the well cap like you would attach a tire to a car. Tighten the cap one bolt, than go to the opposite side and attach a bole etc etc etc... In that way you have less chance to break the cap. Just something I learned the hard way.

Brass historically has always had a percentage of lead in it. Purists are trying to get our lead exposure to zero. Brass used in water systems costs a lot more than it used to as it is now lead free. If you well is newer that about twenty years old it will have the zero lead brass pump.

We lived in Houston for 13 years and my wife and I always had one month of canned food stored plus water. We had 4 times that we were as my wife claimed high, dry and bored. We could not escape our neighborhood except by feet and swimming.

U can use a sync app that will transfer ur pics folder or any other folder to ur network server via wifi, so u never have to email stuff to urself.

TIS THEY WAY of those who think for ourselves. You will always get criticism for it because people cant make the logical connections that come naturally to those who are critical thinkers. My friend and I had this discussion, he is a creative and so he has a very different train of thought to me on a lot of things. The logic paths we take are wildly different but thankfully we both usually end up at the same conclusion. Im astounded at how he can make those creative leaps and he is amazed how I can make the logical processes.
