How to measure the diameter of a pipe

Have you ever wonder how to measure the diameter of a pipe accurately! Watch this 1 minute video to learn how to measure pipe diameter in the most precise way.
Use a sting, thread, or something similar. I'm using a broken headphone cable as the string.
Wrap around the pipe, tube or duct. Make sure the wrap it tight.
Use a pencil and mark the string where it meets the end.
Remove the string and place it on a flat surface.
Use a ruler or measuring tape and measure the length of the string to the marked point. This length is the circumference of the pipe. In this example, it's 13.8 cm (5.43 inches).
Tip - If you would use a flexible measuring tape (used for measuring body), then you wouldn't need to user a ruler. In this way, you could get the circumference while the tape is wrapped around the pipe.
Circumference = 2 x π x Radius or C = π x Diameter
Diameter = Circumference / π
(π = pi = 3.14)
Diameter = 13.8 / pi = 4.39 cm (1.73 inches)
