I can confirm that all of what they’re describing is true! Yes, the weird thing is that the first symptoms of strep throat aren’t even a sore throat, they’re nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. It’s actually the common cold whose first symptoms consist of a sore throat along with changes in taste and smell. With strep though, you can’t even feel your throat, it’s just pure pain and it radiates to your ears when you swallow to the point where your ears often hurt even more than your throat.
