soak the jute twine in wax or in pine resin if you want to use it as a fuel source that you can ignite easily .

Simply Excellent ideas ! Not much paracord. Might use tarred bank line instead.

Great job. I really like how you kept it so slim and lightweight.

The shrink wrap twine is a great idea. Personally, I carry mine when surf fishing, so mine stays completely submerged in saltwater for a hour at a time, so this setup wouldn’t really work for me personally, but great ideas here. I want to mention I have super glued around the meeting of blade and handle to eliminate saltwater seeping down, and with some light maintenance and polishing, knife stays rust free. For the money, I’ve never seen a better knife. I have many benchmades both custom and regular, but the mora companion is my go to for real grimey work when fishing, and I loved it so much, I bought 5 more exactly the same. Value really doesn’t do these knives justice. Crazy good deal.

I really like that heat shrink idea over the jute. I'm going to try this, but maybe try adding a half book of paper matches and the striker as well and add them under the jute. Between painting those matches with clear nail polish, and the heat shrink tubing, I think they'd have a real good chance of being there in working condition if ever needed. Keep up the great work.

I love the simplicity, yet functionality of it. As already mentioned in other comments, adding a quick dip of the jute in wax to extend the burn time a little.

Very well thought out. Pretty much all I need to get me through a hard night. Only thing I might have added was heavy duty aluminum foil. Because it has so many uses.
I really like the color choice also great job.

I would prefer fewer elements, but the largest and high-quality flint and a good compass from Suunto

The only thing I can think to add is sharpening tools. Tbh the aesthete in me would put everything some other place except what I use specifically with that knife, but your way you get peace of mind if the knife is your only guaranteed edc. Those 'shouldn't be alive' videos spring to mind.

I like your set up. I think for the second needle I would have used a sail needle to be Indians able to use thread from the paracord. Another thought, use the mora that has rod with it.

One little addition, since you have the monofilament in the FireCord, would be a couple of fish hooks and a couple of removable splitshot lead weights for fishing. They would fit right in there under the gaffer's tape. Maybe a couple of aspirins or Ibuprophen in the sealed straw containers like the Vaseline soaked cotton tinder and a band-aid under the tape as well

great vid. I too like the heat shrink idea and will look to see where I can find some around here. The only question is that is a lot of metal that could impact the accuracy of your compass. Might want to consider how this is impacting that with a test compass away from the metals?

Really nice Mora knife survival kit sir… well done! I really like the shrink wrap idea. Going to modify my Mora ASAP! Going to add a Wazoo emergency water bag that you can boil water in and add at least 10 h2o purification tablets. Great ideas to draw from. Thanks!

excellent kit, very tightly assembled. Urban Knife Guy, what are your thought about the Mora Spark? Will you ever make a survival kit with that model?

You should have left the heat shrink wrap as it was in order to provide a longer route for the water ingress.

use the light my fire mora which has fire steel inside the handle of the knife you can swap the fire steel out for something else like a little magnifying round with handle which can start fires when sun is out, and helps to see small things, also a pair of tweezers, and maybe a little flat folding nail clipper, and file.
