Not enough people talk about how emotionally straining college is. I still wake up in panic that I’ve forgotten an assignment or test. Acting itself is also emotionally and physically straining. It’s ok to admit that your passion can be draining and still be a passion. ❤

I’ve always dreamed of being an actress and I’m so grateful you are kind enough to share the down sides of acting.

Even though I’m not acting, I can still relate. I was so scared of failing and everyone being better than me that I became the person that I didn’t want to become. Someone in my class was super good at acting, so I wanted to be good at acting too even though I didn’t like acting. I was worried of being a failure and I didn’t want to become a doctor but I chose the path to be a doctor just so I wasn’t a “failure.” Love your videos, they inspire me to follow my passions and dreams, thank you Makayla. Edit: Thank you so much for 40 likes, you are all too kind!

From one actor to another, you are only speaking what a lot of us are scared to say! Thank you for sharing your vulnerability. We’ll always be in your corner!

I wish more actors and actresses who have big roles would speak out about their raw experiences like this. They always make it look so fun and easy. Thanks for sharing your story!

As a former actress I get it. I was like you but with theatre and independent film projects in nyc and Chicago. I started at 19 (not a child actor) and stopped at 28 when I became a wife and mother. I dropped out of college to purse this....I honestly couldn't imagine going while being a working actor. Now I have a 13 year old who is younger and more talented than I ever was and theater is her life! I'm going to show her some of your vids because she needs to hear and see this from an older peer who looks like her and not just her mom. You are beautiful, talented and brave to share this. It's appreciated so thank you. New subbie.

Life is a cycle Makayla, it comes with both good and bad, there’s no way you can let us down. We appreciate you for always being honest and vulnerable with us so that we know what to expect.

Makayla, don't feel like this is the end of your successes and opportunities. Throw your hands up in the air when I say GOD HAS YOUR BACK!! He will not let you down, I can still see your face that acting is has a place in your heart and don't you worry, those big roles that you longed for, will call out your name at the right time. Being educated is really important so take all the time you need to finish up your studies! Keep believing girl! You got this! Sending love <33

I am in my 50s, and I am blown away by how much Makayla has accomplished. I remember taking 18 credits one semester and that incredible workload.

My brother is 20 years older and also a working actor. I always tell him he should do what you're doing, mentoring people... You're ABSOLUTELY qualified regardless if you ever book anything again. You have knowledge only a working actor would have. It's really tough if you don't hyphenate your job description. Actor- Writer - Producer- etc... What you're doing with your YouTube channel is making something for yourself without asking anyone to hire you. You are your own boss. Werk! ❤

You’re vulnerability is powerful. So many people are with you and resonate with your story. Getting help is the best thing you could’ve done for yourself. Congratulations on beginning to take care of yourself.

You can definitely take a break and still mentor on YouTube ! You have hella credibility! Don’t stress yourself girl, just do what you can!

Personally I think you've got it in you to be a top level PRODUCER. You've been in the business long enough - you already have the skill-set, drive, contacts, and vision. You understand how the business works and you have a passion for storytelling and you understand the evolving nature of media (just my 25 cents - inflation) Good luck!

This industry is a brutal beast. It can and will seduce you and abandoned in the same breath. You are not alone in your experience and feelings. You have achieved so much already and you have plenty more to achieve. I look forward to seeing you at the rendezvous of victory!

You should write a screenplay about this experience. Write a movie showing this whole experience. That would be amazing to see in cinemas
