I feel like I got punched in the stomach when the announcer Bill Hampton said, "The president of the United States is dead." Brutal.

Such a terrible terrible day in our history. Nothing has ever been the same since. We lost our innocence and trust that 22nd day of November 1963.

I was 8 years old when John Kennedy was assassinated. I can remember leaving my school early I looked over and there's a tower at good year and the flag was already at half staff. I remember talk with another kids about it it seemed like the whole world stopped for a couple days. Even now I still tear up. God only knows what course we would have taken if he lived. He might not have escalated the Vietnam conflict. I never did believe in the conspiracy theories. Oswald got lucky and kill a president by himself. But the 60s was a time of turmoil the assassination of Bobby Kennedy the assassination of Martin Luther King the Civil Rights Movement the culture wars. But even though it was a time of turmoil we were Americans and we did have pride in ourselves and our country and we were an honest people. Not like today our politicians are hate mongers and corporations are greedy. I just feel we've lost our way and when I look back at the 60s with all the turmoil I found it a great time to be alive. And at the same time ever so Much Death and destruction. And as being a child at this time I think it really affected me I remember when Ronald Reagan was shot. The moment I heard that he was shot I started to cry. Not because it's Ronald Reagan no because it's the president of the United States.

That reporter speaking, selected by SS detail, allegedly knew President Kennedy wasn't going to make it to the Trademart. He also stated exactly how many minutes and the exact location of the motorcade on the radio that they were listening to. They always cut out the shots ringing out. I'll tell you. There were 5 heard. And 7-10 shot from various positions.
