0 points doesn’t mean nobody vote but that UK wasn’t in the top 10 in any country… the points go from 1-7 and then 8, 10 and 12.

Thank god the US youtubers woke up and and discover that Eurovision (short: ESC) is the world's largest music competition with over 180 million people watching this event on TV and many more following this event online worldwide.

In the video they forgot to say that a country CAN'T vote for themselves. So if you're from the UK, you can't vote for the british entry. That way we actually vote for songs we enjoy, and not for our own country.

Loreen won it for a second time for Sweden since that video was made.

the ESC is a "song contest" brand new and original songs are allowed to compete there. That is the difference between the Eurovision and shows like "The Voice" or "AGT".

I don’t mind a ”friendship vote”, after all the Eurovision were created to bring together Europe after the war.
But, it doesn’t necessarily mean you give away the highest score.

In my opinion the best way to introduce Eurovision to the newlys, is by watching the Eurovision winners from 1956 until today. And just then, watch this type of explaining videos.

No I never vote on Sweden or Norway because they are our sister and brother countries but because we often share a common music taste. If I do not like the song I wouldn’t wote. And to be fair I think that is why you see some countries always give each other’s neighbour countrie 12 points, not because the are neighbours but because they share a certain taste of music.
But I LOVE Eurovision and have watched it since the 70’s every year. Next Saturday the Danish Eurovision will start and we’ll see who will win to try and get to the international Eurovision. Unfortunately I can not vote anymore as I live in Spain now but I hope Danish television is finally waking up after last years fiasco.

as a Eurovision fan since 2018, I've never heard of anyone comparing Toy & Seven Nation Army lmao. I didn't think it sounded similar at all

This is massive. I watched my first Eurovision tht i can remember in 1973 and never looked back. The average viewing audience for this is double + that of the Superbowl. They did try a public only vote for a few years but decided after some issues to go to a 50/50% split of jury and public vote. ABBA are without doubt the most sucessful artists from the contest going on to become the second biggest selling group worldwide after the Beatles. This year is the 50th anniversary of their win and due to Loreens win for Sweden last year it is going to be hosted in Malmo. One thing the guy got wrong is that the winning country does not HAVE to host the following year. It is offered to them first but they can decline. The French would love to win/host again as they haven't done so since thier last win in 1977, so the entry of the Moustache song was not for the purpose of avoiding that.

Regarding viting for your neighbours there is also the aspect that neighbouring countries have a similar music culture and tend to like each others music. Europe is very diverse culturally and musically. But yeah, there are political voting as well. But all voting for neighbours isn't political.

Its a competition from EBU members, NOT from Europe, thats why countries like Israel are allowed to participate!

You can´t give a vote for your own country, and Brexit was not very populair in Europe.

You are right on time with this video. I recommend you guys watch the show in upcoming may. I don't think the Eurovision youtube channel is region blocked anymore.
The semi shows take around 2-3 hours and the final is around 4 hours.

14:45 the discussion about the uk song. It was just not a good song, even at that period of time. 😂

And here we are. In that time of the year the Europeans go crazy 😂 love it. Regards from Portugal ❤

2021, the song was sh*t that’s why it got zero. What does Australia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Israel to name just a few countries not giving us anything have to do with Brexit? It doesn’t.
