Nice story. Covers the bi-polar nature of Jefferson's legacy very well.

I have to dislike this for a few reasons. The first is that it dwells too much on the hamilton play. Secondly, they go into very little detail about the significant parts of his life that make him important to american history. The third (and worst) criticism is how they completely forget to discuss the measures he took against slavery. In the house of burgesses in virginia he put forth a bill that would allow slave owners to emancipate their slaves (was not legal to do so under british rule). Also, Jefferson banned the importation of slaves in 1803. I will say that this video did a good job of explaining the controversial parts of his presidency tho, so this podcast wasnt all bad.

Sure, Jefferson was an incredible man who is forever marred by his slave ownership. It colors so many of his actions. For example, yeah, "he planted" an enormous garden 3 football fields long with 330 varieties of veggies in Monticello. I've been to Monticello multiple times, the garden is directly in front of the slaves quarters, so you can imagine who did all the planting...

I disliked this video specifically because it dwelled on an excerpt of the hamilton musical. Very cute. I'm sure it won the views of some very hip people.
