Imagine if there was another universe made of anti matter

The reason i stopped wanting to be a physicist as a kid is because there are too many things in physics where you just have to go "i dunno, but thats like 98% right so, there ya go" and my perfectionist ass would never allow it.

As with everything, it's not scary unless you have it in large amounts.

Hope Alexis Dahl does more of these - she's great!

And to make people worry again: Lightning and radioactive rocks both create antimatter.

A single antimatter particle: I sleep

1 KG of antimatter spontaneously tunneling into me through quantum physics in the most unlikely event to ever occur: I sleep but forever

And there’s even antineutrons, which you think wouldn’t make any sense, because neutrons don’t have a charge. But they’re made of different quarks than regular neutrons.
They have 1 Up antiquark, and 2 down antiquarks. The regular neutron is made using the same formula, but with regular quarks.

I think this is the best Hank Green impression I've ever seen. The tone, the pacing, everything.

Fun fact: certain kinds of medical diagnosis involve *feeding you* a substance that *emits* antimatter. If you've ever had a PET scan, you might have missed that that's Positron Emission Tomography...

The antimatter that does occur naturally is such a small quantity that it almost always gets annihilated pretty much instantly, and while the energy is a crazy amount relative to the mass (e=mc^2) that amount of mass being converted is so small that it really just isn't a big deal.
The mass majority of this happens inside stars anyway where the energy released is inconsequential compared to the energy released by the fusion around it.

This is raising more questions than it answers for me and now I will obsessively research why there’s a disturbing lack of antimatter for the next two hours which will ultimately fail because it’s one of those things that I lack the mental capacity for to completely wrap my head around it. goodbye sleep .

They figured out why there is a lack of antimatter.
It's because it already interacted with regular matter.
The reason why we have so much space in order for this Universe to form- is because of that antimatter interaction.
Multiverse says that is when most all the variant universes started.

Antineutron, how could it exist? No charge to be flipped, it shouldn't exist, right? But when you look at a deeper level you realise that the quarks in the neutron have their antimatter counterparts and thus you can make a antineutron out of those antiquarks, but the charges still add up to 0 in both the neutron and antineutron.

Just a fun question I figured out the answer to like yesterday lmao

Its not scary until they make a weapons out of it.
