Wrapping Up Muhlbacher Hansom Cab Lamps From Paris

preview_player
Показать описание
Rick does an unusual spinning where he spins a half round band directly onto the lamp head. He then spins brass caps to cover the damage on two finials. This video culminates the series on the Muhlbacher lamps, starting with an explanation about Hansom Cabs and ending with the lamps finished and lit.

They turned out beautifully and the owner of those lamps is going to be very proud to show them off on his carriage. Very well done, thanks. I, very much enjoy watching the fine detail of your work, the more of that, the more I enjoy watching.

Beautiful work. And the owner will see that no corners were cut in the slightest to bring them back to as new condition. Thanks again for sharing these videos and letting us see such a specialized craft being performed with nothing kept secret.

Hi Rick! Just discovered your channel via Dave’s last night! Now I’m spending the weekend catching up on your vids! Really enjoying your channel, and so glad that you weren’t discouraged by the YT trolls when you first started! The thing that always occurs to me when I read “trollage” is that although they complain, they still watched the vid! As a 60 year old, I really appreciate the amount of shop made fixtures, tools etc. made from stuff laying around! Keep em coming! We love watching and learning!

That was a really enjoyable video, and I learned a lot. I haven't seen any other YouTubers doing metal spinning, so I really appreciate your descriptions of what you're doing at each stage and why. The finished lamps are just gorgeous, too!
I also liked how you put the replacement finial cap over the old one rather than replacing it, so that the original is still there as a reference for a future restorer.

Absolutely gorgeous lamps Rick it must make you feel so proud as you should, but I had a hard time with the voice overlay it sounded almost as if it was Dave, your two voices are almost identical, amazing, great video Rick...

I fully enjoy your videos with all the great time and attention to details you focus on. Your fit and finish work is amazing and well worth watching the paint dry as that is also important. Keep up the great work.

Wow, I had to watch that part at 3:13 twice to see how the heck that square became a circle. Awesome.

I agree with Daniel Dudzik. I really love the final lighted view of the lamps. Really looks amazing. And you didn't even use LEDs. LOL! Regards, Solomon
