Super efficient, many thanks! One case use I've seen recommended for this method is to create an animated slider / playhead for a graphic waveform (so that if working with an audio file, you can make a png of the wav form, animate the playhead over it, and have that in a group to create a virtual animated wav file, as there doesn't seem to be much chance of one any time soon. This vid comes in very handy for that, so many thanks.
