Refusing to accept her past, Miss Rotten;meier pretends she doesn’t know Friedrich and when he finds work with Grandfather at the bridge and settles at the cabin with them, Miss Rottenmeier decides to leave with Clara for Frankfurt. Refusing to go, Clara runs away with Heidi as they’re on their way to the station, forcing Miss Rottenmeier to ask Friedrich for help to find them. Eventually, Miss Rottenmeier talks to Friedrich about her past and, feeling better, she decides to stay.
