I quite literally make two huge batches of this yesterday - didn't split on me thank goodness and I also added vanilla to one batch and finely milled freeze dried raspberries to the second batch and both were delicious and really easy to work with.. for me.. everyone is different... love ya Tigga xx

I made Russian buttercream using Dulce de leche condensed milk the other day. Everyone loved it. Delicious. Didn't try piping it but it stayed firm in quite large cake for at least 4 days.
I will definately be making it again - so easy!

Try Ermine! It tastes great, not so buttery, not too sweet. Its like a cross between American buttercream and whipped cream.
I'd really like to see if you find it good for decorating though...

I’ve only made it once for a Kiev Cake and that was delicious! It’s a cake with Russian buttercream mixed with roasted hazelnuts and margarine bits. I’d recommend trying it.

I really like the Swiss meringue butter cream. I don't make tons of cakes lately but when I made this butter cream couldn't stop eating that cake! It's soo yummy. I used the Cupcake Gemma recipe.

I use a Russian frosting recipe that’s just 3 sticks of unsalted butter with a can of sweetened condensed milk, but I always add a pinch of salt, cup and a half of powdered sugar, and vanilla and almond extracts. It makes a very light and buttery frosting!

I make American buttercream because where I am not everyone is okay with eggs in the frosting, so I make the buttercream normally, and add a cup or so of fresh cream to the mixer and mix on high

I make a cross between all the different versions...and its amazing.
-real butter
-sweetened condensed milk
-cream cheese
-vanilla
-homemade whipped cream
-marshmallow fluff
-herseys white chocolate pudding mix to stabilize it(but you can leave this out if your not using it for decorating)
And bam...the best frosting you've ever had!

Maybe just give it another go with a hand whisk to avoid overmixing? Idk, I've never tried other butter creams/butter icings other than the basic basic butter and icing sugar combo 😂
