Now idk how true it is, but a while back it seemed to get some attention. Bees are disappearing because of exhaust from diesel trucks. But it’s not just the diesel exhaust, but the DEF fluid owners are required to put in their trucks since 2006.

Cali law describes fish as " Aquatic invertebrates"... and the judge said " Aquatic is a term of art"... just add the Bee statute to the existing law through the legislature ( Like how things are supposed to be done) insead of calling old laws "art" to undermine the legislature... You are correct but the judicial constantly creates laws through their rulings which is supposed to be illegal. Prime example being qualified immunity. No legislature ever created qualified immunity, but the court kinda magiced it into law.

Judges are supposed to interpret laws as their written in the spirit that they were written. What you described is virtuous in this case but judges have the discretion and use the discretion to railroad political opponents via “judicial interpretation”
