In the 1950s the US. Navy made the star survey before humans went into space. Modern star maps appear to have hundreds of missing stars. Where did they go? Beatriz Villaroel's VASCO project are looking for answers. Could the missing stars be an unknown force of nature or evidence of alien civilisations. Tony Misch works for the Lick Observatory an explains why astronomers don't see UAPs with their telescopes. Avi Loeb is running Project Galileo to answer, once and for all, what UAPs really are. The US Navies project to photograph the night sky in the 1950s, has produced a photographic baseline which must be a kind of astronomical gold. Unencumbered by man-made satellites. A great starting point for VASCOM’s work.
During the preceding 70 years things have changed. Some objects may have moved, some may have dimmed or brightened and quite a few are still unexplained, but at least their presence or lack of it now noted.
Today we have so many more platforms to gather information like this, including Pan Stars, Gaia to name a few, but none which quite offer this 70-year timeline mentioned above. However, Gaia offers us new insights into movement.
Also, I’m looking forward to the data returned by the soon to be launched James Webb Space Telescope. Although it could take 6-12 months to achieve L2 and fully deploy.
I’m also intrigued what JWST will tell us about Tabby’s star. Exciting times.

From a practical point of view, to see near field UAP phenomena, we need to be looking from 40-200 miles above the earth, which is where strange Phenomena can often be seen to operate particularly visible at night time.
Any lower than 25 miles up, can usually be picked up by the better radar systems available.
Because at near field broad angle range, not much observation is taking place judging by past records, so many events, and incursions go ... Unnoticed.
Most Astronomy is pin prick focused in one direction, thereby missing movement closer in surrounding our planet.
This would seem to be the case many many times, over the last seventy years without any doubt.

Of course. Use the empty sky photos to eliminate all the false positives the space junk causes! There's a degree of genius in the obviousness of using those old photos to find what is and isn't there anymore. It's a great idea.

The Solar System moves around the galaxy very fast, in top of that the Milky Way also moves in comparison to another galaxies, maybe this effect is changing the angle in which we observed the universe 50 years ago.

The UAP Report said the UAP's give off there own special RF Signature, No doubt they can track them now from that RF Signature with there New Radar Tracking Systems that they have now, Norad must of tracked some for sure . Satellite Tracking Imagery has seen them coming and going and one would think they must know where some of these UAP's are going to on Earth roughly. These UAP's move at Super Sonic Speeds so they would loose track a lot no doubt. Off the Coast of Mexico is a Known Hot Spot for UAP's going into the Sea, so something is going on in that area.
