I don't think pixelation is an issue at all. In fact it's almost the point of having these nice large screens but not having it stretched and blurred across the higher resolution 3DS XL screens. And the fact that every DSi XL/LL comes with dual IPS screens when they're so sought after in the 3DS, just means you're guaranteed quality. Absolute best way to play DS games. It's such a shame they took away GBA compatibility with the DSi line. That's the major plus with the Lite. I love that almost every variant of the console has a major selling point like that though. Used to make collecting fun before prices shot up on everything.

Definitely planning to buy a DSi XL (or maybe LL probably cheaper too cuz JP) but I’ll have to see about US shipping costs and all that…

I have an original DS (navy blue, hasn’t been used in basically a DECADE and I’ve bought a authentic battery replacement so it’s going to be revived soon 😭🥹🤝🏻🔥 can’t wait!!!)

And I’ve bought some Pokémon DS games (have all Gen 4 - Gen 5) and I would play them on my 3DS XL but damn it definitely does not look good as it did on my original DS a decade ago…

After seeing the DSi and DSi XL and I think they have IPS screens as well, it will definitely be beautiful to play Pokémon games and other DS games maybe even GBA thru mods etc.
Such a shame that even the so called “New” 3DS XL and 2DS XL did not improve the screens so that DS games could look as good as the DS era… 🔥
