"A rule of law should not evaporate, because a lot of voters decided to build a cult around a criminal." Thank you, Sen. Whitehouse for stating the truth about Trump's Republican Fascist voters!

Remember supreme court justices, if the law doesn't apply to a president, that president has no need for a supreme court.

Placing your faith in the Constitution and placing your faith in the Supreme Court are two entirely different things...

If Trump is given a pass when he tried to overthrow the government then the U.S. is over. Letting Trump run again is flushing America down the toilet.

Any judge appointed by Trump should recuse themselves from cases involving him.

How is it not a conflict of interest for them to rule on the guy who literally gave them their jobs??

I wish more Senators and members of Congress were as vocal as Senator Whitehouse

Note: Project 2025 is a plan to reshape the executive branch of the U.S. federal government in the event of a Republican victory in the 2024 United States presidential election. It was established in 2022 by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, and other right-leaning groups. It consists of four pillars: a policy agenda, a personnel database, a training program, and a 180-day playbook. The project aims to recruit tens of thousands of conservatives to replace existing federal civil service workers, implement a maximalist version of the unitary executive theory, and pursue the objectives of the next Republican president. The project has been criticized by some as a blueprint for overthrowing the federal government and erasing the democratic safeguards.

The claim of immunity is ridiculous and its face and should be denied without comment. The fact that this is being considered seriously is evidence of the failure of the U.S. political system, institutions, and yes, at last, the courts.

if successfully convicted of all those crimes, should all the people who participated in that insurrection also be excluded from running for office?

But won’t SCOTUS’ ruling that Trump is immune grant the same status for the current president. Would that allow Biden the ability to remove certain justices? Would he?

The one that he is terrified of making an immediate ruling on his dictator-like claim of 'absolute immunity'.
