What I remember is this. "If you build it, they will come" but at the end of the movie when he meets his father he then says, "if you build it he will come" then his father walks out of the corn and they play catch. That's how I remember it. And for me it was always Bernstein bears, Not Berenstain Bears and Neither Berenstein bears but was/is The BERNSTEIN BEARS.

Watching “how high” (lol) and they parody this scene. It’s always been “if you build it, they will come” but apparently our Mandela time machines have been in overdrive for about 5 years now.

i was just watching ' How High ' and early on in that movie they are watching 'field of dreams' on the tv and it is the original 'they' version.you actually hear them say that part it may be imposed in for sound but you get the gist they made in reference to the movie so it is still original, like bibles changed but you can still find original versions in things like bibles for dummies or somthing in reference to.

At the time I wondered, 'Who are they? He's missing his dad!' Then, when many players arrived, it made sense, and his dad came later.

My memory serves me well - I know this to be true.

I also know that nelson mandela died in a prison hospital, some years before his release and presidency! These two proofs, I stand by.

I recall as a small child my best friend and I would seldom agree on what happened last week, or some event. We always had personal memories that shared some details but had others that didn't match up. I've come to the conclusion that our memories are so faulty that eye witness testimony shouldn't be allowed in court!

Sorry you guys.  I clearly remember that movie saying "if you build it, HE will come".  And at some point they speculated HE was Shoeless Joe Jackson, but at the end realized it was Ray's dad.  The movie was based on book "Shoeless Joe", so they were throwing you off to think HE was Joe.

I was a huge fan of this movie as a teenager, I had the vhs cassette and must have watched it over a 100 times. It has always said, "If you build it, He will come" Now Ray thinks "he" means shoeless Joe Jackson, but he later finds out at the end of the movie that "he" meant his father.

Audio has changed, but the title is the same as when i came across this video back then. This version is a whisper the old version is more louder authoritative voice
