Putting eyes on a soft plastic bait can make a huge difference in your catch rate, especially if you dead stick. Here is how I put 3D eyes on a @ZManFishingProducts Scented Jerk ShadZ.

Thanks Jeff. I'll be updating my jerkshads with the eyes soon. I use 3d eyes on my shad spoons that I make and it does make a difference in the bite.

I just received my order of lure eyes this week. After my scapula and spine heal I will be doing this tackle crafting on the Jerkshadz. Thanks for the video, Jeff.

Darn, I thought I invented this. Was hoping there wasn’t a video on this subject lol. That’s why I’m here. I’ve been using red eyes to imitate baby smallies. Hope you are all set for the spring!

Jeff, give some tweezers and the loctite gel a go. Touched on it quite a bit back to 2015 on In Fisherman with Ned with the elaztech stuff 👍

Have you considered placing the eye near the hook point? The theory being that if the bass attacks the eye, it is more likely to get the hook?

Just an idea, they make a tool in fly tying- a bodkin- that could be used and might be a little better than the toothpicks if you want to spend the money for it. A cheap one is around $4. I use it to apply eyes- it has a metal needle on on side that you can stick the eyes to and place them, then flip it over and use the handle to apply pressure to secure the eye. Not disposable, but might be better. Can remove the glue also.

Thanks Jeff. What specific Zman color is that at 0:49?

I paint & tie ALOT of saltwater bucktails with thousands of eyes glued on. Tweezers and toothpicks! Superglue gel is clutch.

Thanks for showing that Jeff wouldn’t tweezers be little more efficient.

has this presentation largely replaced the small swimbait in your arsenal for river smallmouth?

I’ve been getting all the stuff to do this just from watching you already, far out. Do you have a preference for the scented shadZ or do you think getting the streakZ and adding the pro cure yourself is a valid option?
