How to Lament Biblically (Intro for beginners)

To Cry is Human, To Lament is Christian! A third of the psalms are lament psalms. That means one out of three psalms are laments. God has provided a way in which we can bring our complaints to Him. We know we live in a fallen world, which often falls on us. We all experience sadness, sorrow, suffering, shame and sin. So, we know why we need lament. But how do we lament biblically? God has provided a way for us to bring our pain to Him and plead His promises. This is called lament. As you learn about lament in this video, you will also learn how to study lament psalms and pray them too. You will learn there are four movements in lament psalms:

1. Turn to God
2. Bring Your Complaints
3. Ask Boldly
4. Choose to Trust

Make sure to not only learn about the lament psalms but read, meditate and pray them too. The next video coming out this week will be a meditation video on the lament psalms both individual and corporate lament psalms. I’ve been angry with God after my mom passed. She was only 50. It’s been a lot of yelling and crying and pain directed at God. I’ve had an internal message to not stop talking to Him, even if it’s chaotic right now.
