Have to love both Keane and Vieira. One is sticking up for his teammate as a captain should. The other lost that match with class.

If only Arsenal could get someone like Vieira now

It's 19yrs now and we've never replaced Vieira since he left

This is what separates Viera from Keane from me. He was gracious in defeat. When Keane was losing a match, he said himself ‘he’d smash into somebody.’

The ultimate put-down. No need to get in a sweat, or use bad language. Classy.

And so began Neville's hate for Arsenal....

Now I have realised why arsenal are hated soo much by pundits and others...we had the likes of Vieira that bullied everyone #PTSD

I bet even Gary Neville wished he never grew up to be a Gary Neville when Vieira was picking on him.

These were the mentality monsters Agbanlahor pretends to be in his punditry … irrespective of the incident, both Viera and Keane showed up on the pitch that day most importantly … Patrick with the first goal and Roy with the man of match …

Man United v Arsenal does not have the same ferocious passion that it once had when Keene and Vieira were at each other’s throats, that was when the fixture showed the real ferocity and the real bloody drama that it had.

Keane himself said it in tunnel and he was right: "Every week" Viera played "a nice guy" role, but went and tried to intimidate Gary Neville twice before the game. Even after the game he gives this interview, and people call him "gracious in defeat". Well, he wasn't gracious before the game, was he?

And as Keane himself said on the tunnel and years after, the main thing was to win the match on the actual football pitch, which United went and done.
Keane might not have been a nice, loving, kind guy. But he is what he is. He didn't make many friends, but he didn't play any roles to artificially appear nice to others.

Arsenal had players with character but they were always second best to be frank.
