Neil is a genius. No doubt about it. And Crowded House is one the best bands ever.

Rick - This video is one of my dreams. To just listen to Neil tell the story of how he wrote these amazing songs. Thanks so much for bringing this to us!

I was front row for Crowded House at Mississippi Nights in St Louis 30ish years ago and one thing that struck me about Nick was how ultra smooth he was on that bass---his fingers gliding note to note like magic. Also I remember a bottle of vodka being thrown, yes, thrown back and forth amongst the band members that night. Possibly it was someones birthday though I dont recall for sure. The boys were quite funny that night, and especially Mr Hester, who is still sorely missed by many. Some lucky fan standing next to me got to get up and sing the entirety of Better Be Home Soon and I was so jealous it hadnt been me. He did a fantastic job though. Crowded House in a smaller venue is like going to a party at Neils feels intimately like a drunken family reunion. God bless Crowded House.

Neil Finn is one of my guitar heroes...most of my guitar influences are strong melodic rhythm players...I discovered after years of playing, that all the time I was using up learning solos, I could be playing a song. Once I got over the ego element of trying to play solo parts of songs, I felt liberated. I realised I have always been drawn to the percussiveness of rhythm guitar parts.

I spent 1986 doing my best to have Neil’s hairstyle in a school full of mullets and listened to their album on repeat. Drove my parents crazy.

Loved seeing this. Every few years I get on a Crowded House kick again (I'm on one of 'em now, in fact!) These songs seem timeless to me. Just love 'em...

Neil as songwriter and CH -- every iteration since they started -- are a gift from god. Every song the guy writes is truly wonderful, and the band delivers the songs with gorgeous power. A friend gave me their first record, and I think I own everything they have released. I particularly like the bonus tracks on the CD singles and other oddball recordings because they show the intelligence, spontaneity, and love for the audience that don't appear on studio tracks. The concerts are magical.

I love Neil's voice.
It cuts through a mix like a hot knife into butter.

Saw them in Manchester (UK) a few weeks ago. By far the best gig I have been to in my life - and I'm nearer 60 than 50. Amazingly well-crafted songs, played by brilliant musicians, incorporating beautiful harmonies... all played with a smile on their faces.

Such a talent! Crowded House live in concert one of the great experiences. Neil Finn is such a gracious performer who connects effortlessly with his audience, not to mention his amazing musicianship and stunning vocals.

I remember, many or even too many years ago i found a video of Neil Finn, performing "Don't dream it's over" all alone on a stage big enough for 3 headliners... all alone with 1 acoustic guitar and a realky great song.
Over the years i lost the link, but the memory of this will never go away!

There would be nothing in the world like sitting in front of your very own Neve series 80 desk and chatting about your music.
