Thank y’all for your reviews! It is not like that anymore. You can retake a test or lesson but the original score is what is recorded. And every chapter has a offline paper work you have to print out so they can do it by hand and memory. I save every hand written paper for at the end of every chapter for a written over view. My daughter was in k12 last year and fell behind now with time for learning I can go between (for instance k-1 ) in one school year to better help my child.

I am deciding between time4learning and Miacademy. Thank you for sharing your observations - I didn’t think of the possibility of my daughter “fooling” the system. Totally an see that happen.

My daughter has a learning disability, I use it mainly for the math and Language Arts! The Social Studies I use as a guide, and supplement with YouTube videos for interest purposes! The Science is awful, but their updating now, so hopefully it will be more interactive. I love the flexibility, how interactive it’s, engaging! It’s work a try, but you will definitely have to supplement with workbooks, or other things to to make sure your student/ child is getting it!

The kids should be monitored anyway. The whole purpose of homeschool is that you can be more involved and be there.

Thanks for this review. I briefly heard about this program on another homeschool channel and was curious about it. My family & I are new to homeschool & starting this August. We have two uprising 4th and two 5th graders. Tfs!

Students have to be monitored even in a public school setting to make sure they are understanding!!!

we have used time4learning for a few years, and actually love it. we do add in various videos/apps/workbooks and do an eclectic style of learning. every child learns differently and some are a better fit for online curriculums and others are a better fit for traditional. there's so many styles and ways to homeschool. =)

This is true for many online programs and apps. Kids can literally guess there way without understanding. With that said there is some learning happening. I do agree a mixture of online and hard book is needed. Parent monitoring to know children are understanding is important.

Yes I was weary of the online in terms of that no one should depend on it solely. I'm also old fashioned pen/pencil to paper and to have a book in your hands. Studies show that we can retain more knowledge from having a physical book in our hands verses a kindle. We use all our God given senses as we read a book verses just using electronic devices. My public middle school made other students and I do this program during an elective hour, in 2013 but what I've seen the program hasn't changed too much, and they didn't monitor at ALL. so we cheated and/or just didn't care at all. I'm glad you're not just sitting your child in front of the computer and assuming it does all the work. With you helping her and giving her time to work it out etc. I think the program will work really well! Good luck! (the program was extremely annoying for a 13-year-old to do, not as fun as it can be for younger kids).

I been having the most difficult time registering my son to attend public school. Time4Learning does not go off a pass or fail basic, due to that I can’t register him bc the public schools in Tennessee needs something to verify if he’s been promoted to the next grade or if he has retained.

I'm looking into this program. However, currently using k12 and the same thing can happen. If not monitored lessons and quizzes can be cheated. However, with k12 there's is live evaluations and testing with teachers, where parents cannot be involved. I believe virtual school will have this problem but as long as parent are involved any online learning system can work. Good luck!
