In a society obsessed with commercial quick fixes and biohacking, the quest for healthy aging and longevity has taken center stage. From dietary supplements and anti-aging creams to wellness retreats and lifestyle programs, the market is saturated with promises of eternal youth.

This is a panel discussion between Timothy Caulfield, Rina Raphael, and Nick Tiller

This talk was part of the exciting lineup for CSICon 2024. CSICon is the premiere conference in the US for science and skepticism.

But what do the experts say about the science of longevity? Can pills, infrared saunas, and cryotherapy slow life’s relentless march toward entropy? Has the first human to live to 150 already been born? Join Nick Tiller, Timothy Caulfield, and Rina Raphael as they untangle the science and pseudoscience of longevity. Through interactive polling and audience Q and A, the trio will dissect the claims of “precision medicine,” delve into tech magnate Bryan Johnson’s quest for the fountain of youth, and challenge conventional wisdom surrounding diet and exercise.

This talk took place during CSICon in Las Vegas on October 25, 2024

Not one of the major longevity gurus is older than the 50s. They haven’t achieved longevity but are posing as longevity experts. Where are the 90 year old experts?

All that said, I do agree about the bogus YouTube health influencers. They really need to be stopped

6:55 No science to back up any claims of what?? Throwing out a bunch of buzz words and air quotes doesn't really make a case, nor imbue these 20-30-40-something influencers with any credibility. Nothing worse than a bunch of whippersnappers giving sage advice about aging, then heading off to the clubs for a night of raving 😂
