Today I had an Upper GI test to see if I needed to have a Hiatal Hernia repair during my vertical sleeve gastrectomy surgery.

I have occasional acid reflux so my surgeon ordered the test since this will be an easy fix if I am already on the operation table.

Hello, so im a little confused because I'm going in for upper GI test and was told not to drink or eat 12 hours before.. i googled what i should expect and all i see is people being put to sleep and putting camera down peoples throat but when i call my doctors office ask asked what should i expected they said i would drink something like a shake and they will take pictures like xrays. Im wondering if this is new technology, or am i just getting someone completely different than everyone else? The receptionist said they wont put any camera inside. So idk.
